MARTIAL LAW

Martial Law involves the temporary substitution of military authority for civilian rule and is usually invoked in time of war,rebellion, or natural disaster.It brought brutality,inhumane to Filipino people.Its also the responsible for the injuries,deaths of hundreds and thousands of people. 


TRANSCRIPT :
                 INTERVIEW WITH A MARCOS                          VICTIM DURING  MARTIAL LAW
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Setting; were in a dining table “Good Afternoon”.
PARTICIPANT: Good afternoon too.(facing with each other)
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Thank you for allowing me to have interview with you today.
PARTICIPANT: Your welcome, what is it all about?
INTERVIEWER(Kim): It is all about what happened during Martial Law.
PARTICIPANT: Oh! Ok then.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Of you do not feel comfortable with a particular question, you are free not to answered it.
PARTICIPANT: Ok!(with a smile)
INTERVIEWER(Kim): During those time what is your experienced?
PARTICIPANT: (Thinking for a minute and looked at me)
 It was registered to his face that he was afraid as he remembering of what happened.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Are you okay?
PARTICIPANT: Ahhh.. I’m okay.
INTERVIEWER(Kim):Let us proceed to the question. What is your unforgettable moment during those times?
PARTICIPANT: When I forgot to bring my cedula.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Why do you say so?
PARTICIPANT: That time, cedula is your “Conduct Pass” the most important document.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Why?
PARTICIPANT: Because your not allowed to traveled anywhere or even when you are only going to farm.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): You said awhile ago, you forgot to bring a cedula when you went to you went to your farm. What happened?
PARTICIPANT: Tears fell from his eyes.(pause for a moment)
INTERVIEWER(Kim): If you don’t want to continue, it’s fine with me.
PARTICIPANT: I’m fine, we continue.(then he smile)
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Ok.(smile back)
PARTICIPANT: (Start telling the story)
Early in the morning I went to the farm, because I’m in a hurry, I forgot my cedula or Conduct Pass. As I continue walking, I encountered some soldiers and they asked me where is my cedula, I told them that I forgot it and it’s in our house.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): What did the soldiers say or did to you?
PARTICIPANT: (Reaction of his face was furious) The soldiers ordered me to kneel down and put me a blindfold and put a gun on my head. They continue harassing me.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): They did that because you don’t have Conduct Pass?
PARTICIPANT: Yes! If you don’t have that ,they will think that you are one of the “activist”.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): I feel sorry and sad because of what you have experienced.
PARTICIPANT: I have peace of mind now because I know my children won’t experience what I have experienced in the past.
INTERVIEWER(Kim): Again! Thank you for the precious time you’ve given me.
PARTICIPANT: You’re welcome.
